Join the Stanford Conservation Program and Students for a Sustainable Stanford a series of workshops and networking sessions to celebrate diversity in environmental fields!

Meet and network with professionals in several environmental fields from underrepresented backgrounds in each workshop session and learn about skills and resources to support you along your professional journey in environmental spaces. Each participant will also be paired with a mentor for a one-on-one informational interview.

  • Resume Writing and Navigating Bias in Recruitment with Stanford BEAM's Daisy Chavez and Joslyn Johnson (10:30 AM - 11:30 AM PST): Perfect your resume and learn about bias in employment searches and how to excel in spite of it.
  • What Is Your 'Why?' - Finding Meaningful Work (11:30 AM - 12:30 PM PST): Network with professionals in different disciplines to learn about their experiences in approaching environmental careers in a variety of fields and address what aspects of a career path to consider.
  • Breaking Through Career Barriers (1:00 - 2:00 PM PST), hosted by Jorge Ramos: Learn how to identify and navigate barriers to environmental careers alongside our mentor team.
