Join us for a panel discussion with the writers behind Hidden Figures and the live-action Mulan, and co-chairs of the Women's Writers Committee of WGA, Allison Schroeder, Elizabeth Martin and Lauren Hynek. About the panelists:
Allison Schroeder is best known for her Academy Award nominated screenplay Hidden Figures (2016). She has since worked on Christopher Robin (2018) and Frozen II (2019). Allison studied economics and writing at Stanford while participating in on campus performances as a member of Ram’s Head Theatrical Society. After Stanford, Allison earned an MFA in the Production Program at the University of Southern California. Her recent screenplay Disruptors is about an engineer at a popular ride-sharing technology company trying o navigate her way through the toxic culture of sexism and sexual harassment in her industry.
Elizabeth Martin & Lauren Hynek are an impressive screenwriting team who wrote the original screenplay for Disney’s live action remake of Mulan. Mulan’s original release date was set for March 27th, 2020 and now has been rescheduled for July 24th, 2020. Elizabeth and Lauren met in highschool as they both worked at Shakespeare & Co in Lenox, MA for the summer. They split up for college, Elizabeth going to Stanford and Lauren attending Brown University, before working together as screenwriters. Elizabeth and Lauren are also known for Grace Hopper, The Christmas Ball (2020), The Kennedy Women.
